Etsy Community Chat

Tom and Lucy Vendors,

Tomorrow, Friday January 23 @ 10:00 p.m. on Etsy there will be a community chat about the CPSIA. Here is what will be discussed in the Auditorium of the Virtual Labs

General Agenda:
1. Briefing/Update on the CPSIA - To the best of my ability, I will discuss, in layman's terms, what the law says, where it stands now, and what the time frame is.
2. Hypothetical CPSIA Pricing - What are the pros and cons of Etsy sellers placing theoretical prices on items that may be affected by the CPSIA.
3. Take Action - Ideas for getting the word out to the media, lobbying politicians, and educating the community.
4. Resources - Links, resources, contacts.

We think this will be a very informational chat about "where to go from here" and "what to do now". We hope anyone who is interested will be able to participate.

Hope for Vendors

Dear Tom and Lucy Vendors,

With the impending February 10th CPSI Act we want to let all our vendors know how sorry we are that this has happened and although it seems difficult right now, we feel like things are taking a turn for the better. In a recent CNN article we found on ETSY we are hopeful that the CPSC can correct legislation to save our vendors from mandatory testing, and continue providing our customers with their wonderful, creative, handmade products.

We plan to move forward with our Spring Shoppe Dates of April 30 and May 1,2. We hope this will give the CPSC time to correct legistlation and we can have our childrens vendors selling once again. We plan to stay up-to-date on anything new and will post it on the blog for our vendors and customers.
